SHARE Internationcal, Inc. will conduct all pilot projects in Lunsar (and surrounding villages), located in Port Loko District of Sierra Leone.  The settlements in the district are mostly rural except a few small towns. The economic occupation of the population in the district is subsistence farming. Other supporting economic activities include fishing, petty trading and livestock rearing. The main farming crops cultivated are rice, cassava, sweet potato, millet, groundnut, banana, maize and vegetables.

The district lies in the northwest of the country, and it is 77 miles from the capital Freetown. It is bordered by the Kambia District to the north, the Bombali District to the north-west, Tonkolili District to the South and west and the ocean to the west and southwest. It has a landmass of 5719 sq Km and is divided into 11 traditional and administrative sub-division called chiefdoms. Each chiefdom is headed by a paramount chief.
